What we collect

We collect your phone number for sign-in, public display name, lots you add, bids, comments, optional SMS preferences, and payment confirmation references. Payments happen on the linked fundraising site; we do not collect card details.

What is public

Lot details, names of people who add lots, comments, bid amounts and public bidder labels are visible to everyone. Anonymous bids display “Anonymous.” Phone numbers, private outbid notes, and payment references are not public. Jed can resolve bidder identities to operate the auction.

Services

Vercel hosts the site. Supabase provides authentication, the database and artifact storage. Twilio provides login verification and optional texts. OpenAI processes submitted artifact descriptions and images. Do not upload photos containing private information or people without permission.

SMS choices

Phone sign-in is available for US mobile numbers only. Login codes do not enroll you in recurring alerts. Auction alerts from Jed’s Marathon Auction (sender: Jed Heald / James Heald) are optional and off by default. Bidder alerts cover outbid notices, a reminder 1 hour before a lot closes, winner/payment instructions, and material changes to lots you bid on. Lot-owner alerts cover new bids and comments on your lots. Message frequency varies with auction activity. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or contact +1 603-494-1235. Consent is not a condition of donating or participating. Reply STOP to opt out of all recurring alerts; requesting another login code remains available. Reply START to allow texts again, then choose your alert categories on your page. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Service providers process this information only to operate the auction and deliver requested messages.

Retention and deletion

We retain records needed to run the auction, reconcile donations, fulfill lots, and handle disputes. Contact Jed to request access, correction or deletion. Some transaction and audit records may need to remain for accounting or dispute resolution.

Security and contact

Private records are restricted by server authorization and database access policies. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
